“DiSHAN” registered as a Society (NGO) under West Bengal
Society Registration Act 1961 came into being in 2005 and was in 2007. From the
very name of the organization “DiSHAN” it is welfare to sustainable development
of the people through participatory process. To galvanize this process of people’s
participatory planning and action, it was Society for Participatory Action and Reflection,
a Kolkata based national level organization who is pioneer of this process in Eastern
part of India, who first extended their support both in terms of conceptual and
financial which helped our organization to make a strong footings in our reference
area.
DiSHAN is a multi
service NGO having under taken interventions in the field. We are very much concerned
on the eradication of poverty, livelihood security, improved health care especially
for the reproductive, child health, education, Child right, mother & child health
care, Vocational training, water harvesting environment conservation. Hence, our
development activities based on the socio-economic development of underprivileged
rural women through access to credit, capacity development, savings mobilization,
institution building and awareness rising. Although DiSHAN
basically based on the main principle of causing socio-economic empowerment
of the poor. Various technical and funding agencies, both Government and Non-Government
have extended their cooperation and support in terms of capacity building and finance
for implementation of various activities undertaken by DiSHAN
